Three Ways to Dress Like a Dad

Three Ways to Dress Like a Dad

In anticipation of Father's Day, I've decided to do a post dedicated to my favourite trend: dadcore.

Dads have such a universal and distinctively effortless look, it makes one wonder if they are secretly all part of a communal Facebook group where they regularly share their outfit inspo and meet for brunch. They can rock a pair of denim and plaid like no other and (in my opinion) played a sizeable role in reviving oversized tucked in t-shirts. Have dads caught the golden snitch of style? My conclusion is yes, yes they did.

Here are three ways to copy your father's preeminent outfit-generating capabilities.

The work dad

Blazer, Value Village. Shirt, H&M. Pants, Oak + Fort. Shoes and earrings, H&M.

Pull out the pinstripes cause it's time for your morning commute! A classic office-residing dad outfit isn't complete without a clean-cut structured blazer paired with a timeless blue shirt.

The weekend dad

Shirt, thrifted. Jeans, Walmart (mens). Bralette, Aritzia. Shoes, H&M. Choker, Bottle Blonde Clothing.

Also know as BBQ dad. He likes to keep things casual with a pair light wash jeans and a casual dress-shirt tee. The ideal outfit for dropping the kids off at practice or an impromptu trip to Costco.

The sporty dad

Top, H&M. Pants, Sport Check. Shoes, Aldo. Earrings, H&M.

Athletic fathers tend to share similar aesthetic tendencies to a mid-playoff soccer coach (because they are the coaches of our lives? - AWWW). A pair of elastic-waist sweats are must to replicate the look.

Now go tell your dad you love him.
